MK Stalin news: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin voiced strong opposition against New India Assurance, an insurance firm, for issuing a circular on Hindi implementation at the workplace for employees. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader said that "this was a move to impose Hindi on the people of non-Hindi speaking states like Tamil Nadu" in a social media post.
In a long tweet, Stalin called the circular, which was about the implementation of Hindi in all offices "unjust". the insurance firm's circular stated, among other things, that there must be one Hindi workshop in every quarter and that usage of Hindi letters in day-to-day work should increase.

Stalin demanded that the notice be withdrawn immediately. The Chief Minister sought an apology from Neerja Kapur, the chairperson of New India Assurance, "for the disrespect shown towards non-Hindi speaking employees of New India Assurance".
In the emotive post, the politician spoke extensively about cultural diversity and the heritage of Tamil Nadu. He said, "we pay our taxes, contribute to the progress of the country, and believe in our rich heritage and this nation's diversity." Stalin further stated, "our languages deserve to be treated equally. We will resist any attempt to replace Tamil with Hindi in our land."
He said that the days when people who did not speak Hindi in India tolerated second-class citizenry treatment are long past. "Gone are the days of non-Hindi speaking citizens of India tolerating second-class treatment meted out to them, despite their contribution to propelling India's growth with their hard work and talent," the Chief Minister wrote.
He said that the state of Tamil Nadu, as well as the DMK, would do everything within the scope of their power to stop the imposition of Hindi language, in continuance of what they have historically strived to do.
In the post, Stalin also declared, "we will remove the undeserving special status that Hindi enjoys everywhere in the Union government, Railways, Postal Department, banking, and Parliament that affects us and our people on a day-to-day basis."
In a reply to the tweet, the insurance firm wrote that it "specifically mentioned under point 25 that all advertisements, tenders and press releases to be published in newspapers in English, Hindi and Regional languages as done by any other Public Sector Organisation of India. We respect all regional languages."
